Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is used to treat symptoms of depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, trauma (PTSD), grief, major life transitions, and relationship problems. It is therapy that uses a variety of treatments that aim to help a person identify and change troubling emotions, thoughts, and behaviors.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT is a widely used and evidence-based form of psychotherapy or talk therapy. It is rooted in the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected and that by identifying and changing thought patterns and behaviors, individuals can improve their emotional well-being and overall mental health.
Solution Focused Approach
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a short-term goal-focused and evidence-based therapeutic approach. It incorporates positive psychology principles and practices, and helps clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems. In the most basic sense, SFBT is hope friendly, elicits positive emotion, and is a future-oriented vehicle for formulating, motivating, achieving, and sustaining desired behavioral change.
Adolescence is a wonderful time for growth! It is a time for new emotions and experiences that are often overwhelming. Reconnecting with your partner can sometimes feel like an impossible task. If you are willing to face emotional discomfort in a safe place and explore what you and your partner need, progress can be made. If only one person is willing to come to therapy that is okay too! Couples therapy can be very effective with one person seeking out change.
